EXPERTS IN INDOOR AIR QUALITY

SYMTOMS OF INDOOR AIR POLLUTION

ASBESTOS INSPECTION & SAMPLING

Until the 1970s, many types of building materials, including insulation, contained asbestos. Asbestos does not pose a health risk unless it is DISTURBED or DAMAGED and its fibers are released into the air. Asbestos fibers that are inhaled can cause a variety of health problems, including cancer. Most building products manufactured today do not contain asbestos, but those that do should be properly labeled. If you live in an older home and are concerned about asbestos, I will take samples of the suspected material, assess its condition, and advise you on any corrections that may be needed. I can also refer you to technicians who are qualified to remove and dispose of asbestos safely.

SAMPLING & TESTING FOR LEAD

Lead is heavy metal that is toxic to humans. It was used for many years in products found in and around the home, including interior and exterior paint, and plumbing pipes. Ingesting lead can cause a range of negative health effects, from behavioral problems and learning disabilities, to seizures and even death. Children 6 years old and under are at greatest risk. Let me take samples of suspected lead in your home for laboratory testing to make sure your family is safe. I can also arrange for testing of the home’s water supply if you’re concerned about lead pipes. Following testing, I can make some recommendations that are right for you.

MOLD INSPECTIONS AND AIR SAMPLING

Molds are part of the natural environment. Outdoors, they break down dead organic matter, such as fallen leaves and dead trees, creating nutrients for the soil and foliage. But indoors, mold growth should be prevented. Molds reproduce by means of tiny spores, which are invisible to the naked eye and float through the air. Mold may begin growing indoors when mold spores land on damp surfaces in the home. Mold cannot grow without water or moisture. The way to prevent mold growth indoors is to find and fix any moisture problems, including plumbing leaks and excessive humidity.

Unchecked mold indoors can damage the structure of a home, cause wood rot, and ruin drywall. Most importantly, mold can cause negative health effects. A professional mold test starts with a thorough inspection of your property. I will investigate any signs of past or present water intrusion, which can promote mold growth, and I will take samples of any suspected mold growth for laboratory analysis. Your report will include photos of my findings, along with my recommendations. You will also receive informative literature on mold cleanup and prevention, and tips for keeping your family healthy and safe.

ALLERGENS

Indoor Air Quality Testing for Allergens & Pollutants

Do you sneeze, cough, maybe even wheeze? Are you frustrated and you don't know what to do? Your house seems clean. What could be causing your allergy attacks? Many people want to know the answer to this very question. By having a Air Quality test done in your home, you will be able to find out what is in the air in your home that you are breathing.

You can use the results to determine the best way to remove the airborne pollutants and impurities and restore your environment to a healthy environment.
